Category: Anti-racism Training.
Course Rationale: This workshop explores the idea of race, its historical origin, and the reason for its creation. It also examines the construct of racism and white supremacy and the subsequent effect on how we see, interact, and relate to each other as human beings. If we can understand the original construct of race, the impact of racism and white supremacy on our collective lived experiences, and the part we can play in its deconstruction, we stand a better chance of creating a more equitable, inclusive, and hopeful present and future. Aim: This seminar aims to improve our understanding of the Black historical narrative and experience, and the effect of racism and white supremacy on our everyday interactions with people of colour. This renewed awareness will help participants to begin formulating and implementing policies and practices to deconstruct systemic racism in our workplaces, teams and personal spaces. Participants will develop fluency in discussing issues of race and inclusion. Engage: Uncomfortable conversations. Renew: Understanding and discourse. Inspire: Racial inclusivity and diversity. Duration of Course: This is a 2hr interactive session. Delivery Type: Available as a seminar, workshop, webinar, or in other formats to meet an organisation’s needs. Face-to-face and online. |
